Information About Typical Garfagnana Cheese

Garfagnana cheese is quite different from different types of cheese since it's a unique taste and texture that most cheeses do not have. This cheese comes from the hills of northern Spain and has been increased in areas where there's a high production of the local goats.

Most people in those areas have no access to this cheese, but in most towns and villages in the region, the local village life has been dominated by this cheese. It isn't eaten in any way on its own, as the flavor is quite bitter, but most cheese fans love it with meat, wine and other dishes.

A really good reason to buy the product is that it's very reasonably priced. Although you won't find a massive variety, you can still find some really good pieces. You'll also find it at most supermarkets.

As with additional cheese products, you will find this cheese ages a bit more than other cheeses do. That's to be expected, and that I prefer to buy this cheese when it is aged for a few weeks or so. When you have the flavor of this aged cheese it truly is superb.

Garfagnana is in fact one of my favorite kinds of cheese and I try to always have a lot of it available. In reality, I usually wind up buying about eight boxes of it in a time during the vacation season, as I have a tendency to experience lots of the different kinds of cheese. That I purchase.

You'll have no trouble finding this cheese in an assortment of different flavors. A lot of people enjoy the flavor and texture of this cheese. It may be used as a topping for pizza or other baked goods, but the real pleasure comes in making your own version of this. You can certainly create your own variants and experiment with various cheeses to produce your very own unique version of the popular cheese.
